Recently, the full-scale carbon capture feasibility study for Canada LEHIGH Cement CCS Project is officially published in ERA (Emission Reduction Alberta) website, which represented Sinoma Energy Conservation Ltd (in short “SEC”) had successfully completed the “CCS Engineering Consultancy Contract”, signed with Canada CCS Knowledge Center in Dec. 2021.
CCS Knowledge Center is a international non-profit organization, consisting of globally famous CCS/CCUS service providers. To study the feasibility of CCUS in LEHIGH cement plant, CCS Knowledge Center jointly with SEC, MHI and Peter Kiewit Sons ULC together to prepare this CCS feasibility study. In the feasibility study, SEC is mainly responsible for the waste heat recovery section contents.
To better fulfill the consultancy service, SEC founded a specific project team, led by the chief engineer of SEC Design Institute. Since the beginning of project execution, from the site data confirmation to specific equipment arrangement, all works are assigned to different engineer to follow up. Due to the Covid-19 issue, site visit is not available, bilateral engineers kept close contacts and communications via telephone, emails, VC etc. With the fully cooperation of all engineers, after serval months hard work, finally the study was successfully published
It is the first time for SEC to get involved into such international CCS/CCUS project feasibility study works. The successful completion of this contract not only laid deep foundation for SEC entering CCS/CCUS field, but also improve the influence of SEC in the WHR field.
