Sinoma Energy Conservation Wins Multiple EPC Contracts for Green Energy Power Plants in Kenya

Sinoma Energy Conservation has secured a package of major EPC contracts for green energy power plants with Kenya’s leading local conglomerate DEVKI Group, marking another milestone in its East African market expansion.



The project portfolio includes a 20MW biomass power plant for the Mombasa Steel Mill, a 50MW waste heat recovery & biomass power plant for SEBIT Cement Line II, and a 33MW waste heat recovery & biomass power plant for KITUI Cement Line II, with a total installed capacity of 103MW. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Meng Qinglin, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Sinoma Energy Conservation. Liu Xin, Deputy Party Secretary and President of the company, Mr. Lokesh Kumar, CEO of DEVKI Group, and Gao Xiaru, General Manager of Shanghai Baiqiandai, signed the contracts jointly.

This batch of projects represents a major achievement of Sinoma Energy Conservation’s long-term presence in Kenya. Backed by solid technology, premium engineering quality and full-cycle operation & maintenance capabilities, the firm has previously delivered multiple benchmark energy projects for DEVKI Group and earned wide trust from Kenya’s top industrial players.

DEVKI Group, a homegrown industrial leader with over 30 years of operation in Kenya, operates core sectors including steel, cement and building materials. Kenya faces strong demand for green industrial upgrading and energy transition, which aligns perfectly with Sinoma Energy Conservation’s technological strengths and business layout.

Upon completion, these plants will cut energy costs for local enterprises, optimize Kenya’s energy mix and fuel low-carbon transformation of East African industries. It demonstrates the company’s commitment to global climate governance, international carbon cooperation and corporate social responsibility.

Moving forward, Sinoma Energy Conservation will deepen its partnership with DEVKI Group, scale up energy-saving and decarbonization projects across Kenya and neighboring countries, support high-quality Belt and Road cooperation between China and Kenya, and contribute Chinese expertise to Africa’s green industrial transition.
